A trade show featuring home-grown organic health and beauty products was held in Phuket last weekend in an effort to generate more international awareness of the island’s notoriety as a hub for organic spa products and and health foods.
The trade show held at the Royal Phuket City Hotel in Phuket Town was presided over by Phuket Vice-Governor Weerawat Janpen, who welcomed international media and reminded them that Phuket was not just a destination with beautiful beaches, but one with a vast array of quality health and spa products available for export.
On display at the trade fair was a wide range of organic produce for visitors to sample, including healthy herbal drinks and spa products for massage and beauty treatments.
There are close to 300 spas operating in Phuket, making the province’s spa industry one of the largest worldwide.
Phuket spas licensed with the Excise department are granted tax exemption for their services.
